Luxury Cabin NC – Rafting/Canoeing/Kayaking

North Carolina has approximately 37,853 miles of rivers, and those that run through our mountains are known for whitewater rapids.   The most popular for rafting is The Nantahala and Tuckasegee.

Nantahala Outdoor Center – This most famous rafting company offers river rafting and kayaking and is a popular spot for the amateur as well as the Olympic paddler.  In addition to rafting they offer lessons in kayaking.  22 Olympians, including two Olympic Gold Medalists, have called NOC home.  They’ve hosted Canoe World Championships, and the USA Canoe & Kayak Slalom Nationals as well as a variety of other races and events for top-level athletes, competitive hopefuls, developing young stars and weekend warriors.

The Tuckasegee, known as the “Tuck,” originates around Cashiers and runs through Sylva, Dillsboro and Bryson City on its way to Fontana Lake. It’s the ideal river for first-time rafters, families with young children, and those who want more of a relaxing river trip.

The Little Tennessee River is great to rent a canoe, kayak or take a relaxing tube  float.

Our activities book will direct you to all the companies in the area who offer services and equipment for all types of water sports.
